“Brett” of All Trades

Owner of Ditgen Multi-Services, Brett Ditgen is the epitome of a handyman who is great at working with his hands and developed an expert set of skills to improve homes in the community of Raymore and surrounding areas. He has been a firefighter in the Kansas City metro for years now, but Brett has always had a knack for home improvement projects and had a job working for a remodeling company years ago. Through that, he realized he had a talent for all things paint-related, and now, Ditgen Multi-Services is the go-to spot in the area for cabinet refinishing, house painting, and more!

The Process of a Cabinet Refinish

If your kitchen cabinets, or other cabinets in your house, need some new life to them, call Brett. The process of refinishing a set of cabinets takes about 5-8 days, but ultimately, is dependent on the size of the space and the number of cabinets. Here’s a quick look at how those 5-8 days will go:

  • Disassembly: To start out, Brett will come in and take out the existing cabinets and get everything set up for the work that needs to be done.
  • Prep Work: Once the space is ready, the next couple of days are spent sanding and masking to ensure your cabinets are in tip-top condition before adding any product to them.
  • Priming & Painting: Once your cabinets are smooth, a couple coats of primer will be put on them, so they last a long time. After priming, the cabinets are ready for a topcoat of Four Seasons Premium Products that are sure to last a long time.
  • Reassembly: Brett takes care of ensuring your cabinets are properly installed back in your house to show off that new look.

If you have a preference for the products you want on your cabinets, Brett is all ears, but if you need a recommendation, you can trust his knowledge! He uses only top-of-the-line products that are made to last. His go-to’s for topcoats are Sherwin Williams, Emerald Urethane, and Benjamin Moore Advance. These products are water-based and will be just what you need in your kitchen. Oil-based products used to be the standard, but the quality of water-based products has skyrocketed so many experts prefer them now.
