Hello! I'm Dan Edson, a local real estate agent, and Founder of Highlight My Town. The heartbeat of Highlight My Town is to be a resource that positively contributes to our community.
The concept for Highlight My Town was born in November 2019 when I helped a friend of mine make his dream of opening a bakery a reality. This local bakery, in Leavenworth, Kansas, opened on a shoestring budget and didn’t have much to spend on marketing. I began making simple videos about this new bakery and posting them on social media. Soon, word spread organically, and people came from all over town and beyond to try the amazing food at Roselyn’s. It was then that I truly discovered the combined power of video and social media, and the massive effect these tools can have on a small business. As a realtor, I already had a passion for video marketing and for serving my community, so I made this passion an integral part of my business and began helping other local businesses with Highlight My Town.
Our businesses, nonprofits, and local organizations need our support now more than ever. Highlight My Town’s passion is helping our community prosper. Our vision is to help bring more visibility and awareness to these local businesses, helping them get more exposure and support. Promoting community-based businesses is just the start; we also highlight events in our area and bring awareness to local charitable organizations.
Highlight My Town creates complimentary videos for local small businesses, non-profits, and community-related happenings. I became a realtor here in Kansas City and the surrounding areas because I believe it’s the best place to live and I want to share that with the local community as well as broader audiences.
