Highlight My Town

Crankin Into Spring 2022 With Dave’s Bike Shop, Raymore, MO

Dan Edson:

Welcome to Highlight My Town. I’m Dan Edson with Home Connection Team-KC, and we’re here at Dave’s Bike Shop. I’m here with Dave. How’s it going, Dave?

Dave Forster – Dave’s Bike Shop:

Good. How are you?

Dan Edson:

Great. We’re here to talk about your Crankin’ Into Spring event coming up here.

Dave Forster – Dave’s Bike Shop:

Yeah. So Saturday, April 9th. The event will go from 10:00 to 4:00. Basically, we’re going to close off the parking lot and have a big party. We’re going to have a bike ride in the morning, a big community ride, a couple different distance options, so a little bit of an option for every level of rider. And when they get back, they’re going to come back to which kicks off at 10:00, runs until 4:00. We’ll have food trucks, Chick-fil-A, Shivers, and an individual is going to be cooking up some awesome street tacos. And we’re going to have some clinics on how to maintain your bike. We’re going to have the kids bike safety rodeo from 11:00 to 1:00. If they get registered in time for that, they get a t-shirt that fits. If they don’t get registered in time and they come the day of, they may get a t-shirt that looks like it’s a nightgown, but we’ll get them suited with something.

Dave Forster – Dave’s Bike Shop:

We’ve got mountain bike skills course going on over at Hawk Ridge. So it would be a little bit of a go-between, but they can ride the course over there. And if they do at least a couple laps with one of the guides and learn the trail a little bit, then they’ll give them a certificate to bring back for something cool here at the shop. Music all day. We’ve got a couple different performers, but the national anthem’s going right before the ride in the morning. My brother’s going to sing that, and he’s fantastic. I’m a little biased, but he’s really good. Other than that, just a bunch of fun. We’re going to come up with some other fun activities and just keep the energy fun, enjoy the weather. Hopefully it sticks around at that time and see what happens.

Dan Edson:

Awesome. And this is a great event here in our community. Thank you guys so much for doing it every year. And it’s a great way for the family to get out and enjoy the bike shop here and the community. So thanks again.

Dave Forster – Dave’s Bike Shop:

Thank you.
